50% of the fields are open for cutting-that's over 15 acres of trees!
Breaking news! Two new fields are opening that have not been available in past years! Walk over by the pond and go up the hill. There are trees to the left of the corn field and behind it (basically, walk through the path cut in the corn). A little hike, but it's worth it. Happy Tree Picking! Click for a map.
Changes to availability can happen quickly, check the calendar below for updates. Click on the day to open up a list of what is available on that day (on a mobile device you must click once to open the day, then click on the hours to see details). We recommend checking the calendar before you come. We will make updates about field closures as soon as we know. We cannot predict when or if fields will be closed. In the event of a discrepancy, the policies, prices, and availability posted at the farm will prevail. We reserve the right to close any field for cutting at any time at our discretion.
Professional Photographers: All professional photography shoots are by appointment only. Click on the above links to find our professional photography policy and appointment request form. We have NO weekends available for photo shoots after Nov 24.

Why (and when) do you close the choose and cut fields?
The most popular size for a tree is 7-8 feet tall. There is a limited number available each year. Once the majority have been cut we close the fields so that the 6-7 foot trees can grow into next year's crop. If we allowed the smaller trees to be cut this year, we would have no 7-8 footers for next year. We monitor the fields and close when we feel the maximum for the year have been cut. See the next question for how you can still get a Showvaker's Quality Evergreen even if the fields are closed!
How can we get a Showvaker's Quality evergreen if the fields are closed?
It's easy! Check out the fresh cuts in the tent. These trees are our OWN GROWN. We have off-site fields that are grown specifically to keep the tent stocked with your fresh Christmas tree. Our fresh cut trees are brought in daily (sometimes multiple times!) and we stand behind them that you will be satisfied with their freshness.
What's the process to get a tree?
For cut your own, grab a saw and wagon and head out to the field to find your perfect tree. Bring it back to the baling station and we will take over. First your tree will be drilled (in case you have a pin stand or may want one), then we will shake it to remove old needles and debris. Next, it goes to the baler to be wrapped up for transport. It's important keep track of your tree during this process. The baler team will tag it with a 2-part tag and give you the bottom half. Bring this piece to the gift shop to make payment, grab a complimentary hot drink, and do some shopping. When you are ready to head home, show your numbered tag to the attendants at that rack-PLEASE allow the rack attendants to double check your tag number before removing your tree.
Our GoalAt Showvaker's Quality Evergreens, we have always strived to provide both quality products AND a place for families to gather and make memories. We know there are many options out there for places to take your family. We want you to LOVE your experience!

A Word about Pre-Cut TreesBuying your precut tree at a Christmas tree farm is not the same as buying from a box store or pop-up lot. Why? Because tree farmers know their product and how best to care for it. Plus we plan to be here for years to come- we won't risk selling an inferior product. Box stores often sell trees for convenience and they may sit in unhealthy conditions for weeks. Pop up lots may not always be concerned about future customers since they may not plan to return next year (this is not to say there aren't reputable vendors in this market). Another advantage a tree farmer has is the ability to cut trees as needed, keeping them at the peak of freshness. When you buy your fresh cut tree from us you can rest assured it's going to last as well as one you've cut yourself - that's our promise. Let It Snow (or rain)Come rain or shine, we'll have an abundant selection of pre-cut trees ready for you. We have a 60' x 100' tent to ensure you can comfortably select your Christmas tree from the largest assortment of fresh-cut trees in the area, regardless of the weather. A wide range of varieties and sizes, up to 18 feet, will be available, and we'll keep restocking right up until Christmas Eve. Simply choose your tree, and our staff will handle everything else! Share Your ThoughtsWe do our very best to serve the many families that visit us each year and provide a fun, festive atmosphere to make life-long memories. We would love it if you shared your positive experience on Google or Facebook. We are human though, so if we ever miss the mark, we would appreciate your constructive suggestions and a chance to make things right first. You can email us anytime at [email protected] Artificial Tree Health AlertA 2004 study published in the Journal of Environmental Health concluded that artificial trees may pose an exposure to lead. Lead is often used as a stabilizer in PVC products, including plastic trees. As the tree ages, it sheds lead dust. Lead is a known to cause serious health problems and the danger is sufficient that California requires a warning label. The study recommends wearing gloves while handling the faux foliage and preventing contact of young children with the tree. In addition, fake trees can harbor mold, dust, and pests that accumulate while sitting in storage, a chief cause of allergies and asthma. (Kuruvilla, GoodRx 2021)
Big Trees!Looking for a tree 10' or over? This is the place! We have lots to choose from in our fresh-cut area, and some available for cut your own. We will have our own-grown trees up to 18'! We are happy to assist with these monster trees, but we appreciate your understanding that we may not be able to do so during peak hours. If you have selected a tree a little too big to handle on your own, please tag it and arrange to pick up during the week when we have staff on hand to assist. Also keep in mind that trees in excess of 14' may not be able to be baled or drilled. UPDATE: We will NOT be able to assist with large trees from the field on 11/29-12/01 or12/7-12/8. Please tag your tree, note it's location, and arrange pickup on a weekday. For the super-large trees, we strongly suggest selecting a precut tree from the tent - these trees are hand picked for quality and the price is about the same.
Decorating TipUse bows! Red, gold, silver, plaid, or whatever fits your style, ribbons and bows are an inexpensive way to add instant holiday color. You can tie bows to practically anything to add a merry touch to every room. Add a bow to a wreath or basket handle, tie to garlands, use as the topper on your Christmas tree, or stream ribbon around other festive items for an easy center piece. After the season, simply rewrap ribbon. To keep bows in good shape for next year, fill the loops with a piece of tissue paper (or use discarded wrapping paper) and pack in a plastic tote.
Christmas ShopWe’ve spent the year looking for new items to add to our Christmas Shop. Come see our many unique items and maybe find that perfect gift!

The presence of plants in our everyday life has been shown to have a connection to our physical and mental wellbeing. Research has shown that being around plants can have helpful influences on humans, including lower blood pressure and reduced muscle tension (Relf 1992). The logical assumption is that a real tree in one's home likely has the same ability as plants to induce a positive feeling. With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, wouldn't a little stress relief be welcome in most homes?
